Dear Families,

In spring, we usually see students need more support for social awareness as they are very close to their classmate and still learning how to show their friendship.

Please show this video to your child and talk about how to show kindness in general. Being kind: Why Be Kind?

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as a community. We received a lot of feedbacks and questions about GSA grant that our PTSA provides for Jing Mei each year.

As parents donated $105,000 last year to cover approximately 30% of our GSA time for this current school year, all students are getting more support and we could maintain our GSA team as last year.

• The "Invisible" Benefit: We want to emphasize that by assisting with transitions, small groups, and classroom management, GSAs work with the classroom teacher to provide more attention for every single student for academic and social emotional learning.
• Funding Sources: State and district provides funding to provided limited GSA hours. While the State and District provides a baseline, the parents' donations through PTSA is what allows for the robust support level all Jing Mei students currently have.

感谢大家一直以来作为家长对学校的支持。近期，我们也收到了许多家长关于 PTSA 每年为景美小学提供的 GSA 资助 的回馈与问题。

去年，家长们慷慨捐助 105,000 美元，用于支持本学年约 30% 的 GSA（助理老师）的服务时间。正因为有这份支持，我们得以维持与去年相同规模的 GSA 团队，让所有学生都能获得更多的学业与社会情绪支持。

• “看不见的支持”：GSAs 不仅支持个别学生，也通过协助课堂转换、小组活动及班级管理，与课堂老师密切合作，让老师能为每一位学生投入更多关注，支持他们的学业学习与社会情绪发展。

• 经费来源说明：州与学区确实提供基本的 GSA 经费，但时数有限。正是通过 PTSA 的家长捐款，景美小学才能为所有学生提供目前这样充足而有力的支持。
