Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we finished celebrating lunar new year, we want to thank you for your continued partnership and your trust on us! We want to thank you for your notes of encouragement, generosity towards our staff and our school, and trust in our instructional approach for dual language.
Thank you parents and guardians for supporting the building decorations, a whole month of recess program, lion dance at recess, Sunday event, staff luncheon, and much more that you are doing every day!

Early Literacy Screening & Dyslexia awareness event hosted at WISC (12241 Main St, Bellevue WA 98005) - Rainier Room in Bellevue, WA, on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. (Across street from Jing Mei Elementary School)
The session aims to educate parents, educators, and the community about dyslexia, its challenges, strengths, and available resources.
Attendees will learn about BSD’s early literacy screening process, how to interpret reports, and strategies for supporting students with dyslexia. The event also includes a Q&A session and opportunities to connect with experts and families.

5th Grd Tillicum Course Selection- Parents Info
Message from Tillicum Counselor: We are meeting with Jing Mei students on March 13 at 1:30PM. That evening on March 13, we will have a parent course selection information Teams meeting session at 6:30PM to 7:30PM. We will be updating our course registration website with all of the vital registration information, course selections sheets, and the Teams meeting link for parents/guardians to join on March 13.

February and March Safety Drills
February: Lockout Drill We will practice securing the building rapidly during a lockout, which is used when potential but indirect threats are near the school (e.g., wildlife sightings or nearby police activity). During a lockout, students will stay indoors with all doors locked, though classes will proceed as usual with heightened vigilance. March: Earthquake Drill Following up on our International ShakeOut Day activities, we'll conduct another earthquake drill to reinforce the "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" protocol. General Safety Discussions Please discuss how to handle emergencies and express feelings about them with your students.
