Dear Phoenix Families,
We are at the 2 month mark into the school year.
Thank you for support through your partnership at home, working as volunteers at school/take home craft project preparation, donating to our PTSA annual fundraise, etc.
As I mentioned at our curriculum night, we need your continued support at our arrival and dismissal in parking lot by:
- Drive slowly
- Drop off students by the building side not at the fire lane (students should not walk across the drive lanes by themselves)
- Use cross walk
Thank you for using drive-through lane (the lane closer to the school) as drive-through not doing loading or unloading your child to keep the lane goes faster. If your child is not able to unbuckle/buckle up and get off/get on the car and close the door independently, we will recommend you park and walk your child to school.
Here is a video for finding more parking at WISC across the street and ESC which is next to our bus parking lot: https://youtu.be/WlX_mSrk5m4
Thank you again for your on-going support.

Next, remind your students if they playing soccer or gaga-ball, please wear running shoes, avoid wearing Crocs or open toe shoes. Make sure they have shoes that stay on feet and protect their toes.
Let’s all work together to make today a safe, respectful, and fun day for everyone!

Drill Information Earthquake Drill
International ShakeOut Day was on October 16th when we had an earthquake drill. This is a day when we engage in best practices and safety habits should an earthquake occur during the school day.
During the earthquake drill, we tell the students to do the following:
Stop doing what you are doing
Drop to the ground
Cover and get under table to protect yourself
Hold on tightly until shaking stops
Stop, Drop, and Hold
https://www.shakeout.org/washington/dropcoverholdon/
On November 21, we will do Lock Out drill
A lockout is used when there is no direct danger to the school, but there may be something potentially dangerous in the area around the school. For example, if a bear was spotted in the neighborhood or if there was police activity near the school.
During a lockout, students are brought inside and all exterior doors are locked. Inside, classes continue, but staff maintain a heightened level of awareness in case there is a change in the situation.
