Dear Parents/Guardians,
Thank you for your support and involvement in our school and PTSA events like Chinese book fair, staff luncheons, field trip support, class/grade level celebrations.
One thing we really need everyone's support is PARKING LOT safety.
Bellevue Police Department has offered to be on campus to support our morning arrival and dismissal. During this time, the officer will:
We kindly ask all families to drive slowly, follow staff directions, and park only in designated areas. Your cooperation helps us maintain a safe and smooth arrival process for all students. Thank you for your continued support.
Only a few days till Spring Break! We hope you can have a restful week!
Sincerely, Principal Tan |

Drills in March and April (School communication to Prek to 5th Gr.)
In March we conducted an earthquake drill and practiced what we would do if we were at school in the event of an earthquake. Students learned about Drop, Cover, and Hold On and then we practiced. ![]()
Please talk to your child about our drill. An important next step might be planning a drill in your own home and checking to make sure you are prepared in the event of an earthquake or other natural disaster.
For more information on earthquakes and general preparedness, you might want to visit the Washington Emergency Management Division (https://mil.wa.gov/personal) or Great Washington ShakeOut (https://www.shakeout.org/washington/index.html) websites.
In April, we will be conducting a fire drill and practicing evacuating the building and accounting for everyone.
Please talk with your student about preparing for emergencies and disasters such as fires. Encourage them to talk about their concerns and express their feelings. Emphasize that even though sometimes things happen that we may not expect, there are lots of things we can do to help us stay safe.
For more information on fire safety, you might want to visit the National Fire Protection Association "Kids" page at http://www.sparky.org/ or their parent resource page at http://www.sparky.org/parents.

District News:
Share Your Input: Elementary Literacy-Focused School Program Survey The Bellevue School District is exploring the possibility of offering a specialized school program with a strong focus on differentiated instruction in language and literacy, including reading and writing development, to support all learners.
As part of this exploration, we are especially interested in understanding how such a program could positively impact a wide range of students by supporting diverse learning needs, including those with dyslexia, through structured, engaging, and evidence-based literacy instruction. We are seeking families’ input on their interest in a literacy-focused, multisensory learning environment and gathering feedback to help inform future planning. Our goal is to better understand how to create meaningful and inclusive learning experiences that strengthen literacy outcomes for all students.
We invite you to take a few minutes to complete this brief survey. The survey will close on April 22, so we encourage you to share your feedback soon. Your perspective is important to us, and your input will play a key role in shaping future program opportunities that benefit all learners.
Thank you for your time and for sharing your thoughts.
