Dear Families of Bus #1 and Bus # 36 Riders, 

We hope you are having a wonderful week! We want to address recent concerns that have been reported regarding Bus #36 and Bus #1. Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students is our top priority, and we take these reports very seriously. We are sending this email to all families but if your child doesn't ride the school bus #1 and #36, please disregard this email.  

Bus #36 Update:  

As of this week, Bus 36 made some updates to shorten their travel time. Here's the two stops they removed.  

Rt 36 had 2 stops removed, and switched to routes 8 and 5.  

NE 11th and 110th Ave NE (NE Corner)- Moved to Rt 8  

WB NE 10th St & 106th Ave (NE Corner) - moved to Rt 5

Thank you for your patience and partnership on bus 36's route improvement. 

Bus #1:  

Thanks to many of your communication about the Bus 1's situation especially at the Newport Height Elementary Stop, we made some action plans accordingly.   

Here are some steps we have implemented this week to enhance the experience for our Bus #1 riders: 

Notifying the Transportation Department: We have communicated your concerns to the transportation team. 

Reviewing Camera Footage: We are collaborating with the transportation department to analyze camera footage, which has shown that some students are pushing, taking up entire rows of seats, lying down, and moving around while the bus is in motion. 

Engaging with Families: We have spoken with families who raised concerns to address individual student needs. 

Conducting Training Sessions: Our administrative team, including Ms. Tan and Ms. Hu, has provided grade level training for students in grades K, 1, 3, 4, and 5 on bus expectations, lining up, and seating arrangements on September 26. We will meet with 2nd grade on September 27th. We have attached the visual aids used during these sessions for your reference. 

Enlisting Fifth Graders for Support: Five fifth graders have volunteered to assist and support younger students as our Bus Leader. The five leaders will start their duty tomorrow morning. They will receive the leadership lanyard at school before they leave for the weekend. Bus leaders will remind everyone about safe and orderly behavior. The bus leaders will encourage students to line up in the morning and afternoon to make sure we have younger students line up in the front and sit in the front of the bus.

1号校车的更新：

通知教育局交通部门：我们已将您的问题传达给学区的交通团队。 

审查监控录像：我们正在与交通部门合作分析监控录像，发现一些学生在车行驶时推撞、占用整个座位、躺在位置上和在校车行驶的时候在校车上走动。 

与家庭互动：我们已与提出关切的家庭进行沟通，以解决个别学生的需求。 

开展培训课程：我们的行政团队，包括谭校长和胡副校长，于9月26日为K、1、3、4和5年级的学生提供了关于校车行为规范、排队和座位安排的培训。我们将在9月27日与2年级学生见面。随信附上培训期间使用的图画，供您参考。 

招募五年级学生提供支持：五名五年级学生自愿参与成为"校车队长"协助和支持低年级学生。从明天开始，他们将开始工作，周末后他们会得到"队长"的挂牌，"校车队长"会提醒大家保持安全和有序的行为。"校车队长"将鼓励学生在早上和下午排队，以确保低年级学生在公交车前面排队和就坐。
